How to make a Bentley last in Dubai heat
- Drive it at least once a week, or keep it on a maintainer. Most Bentley faults we see start with a long parking period and two flat batteries.
- Oil every 10,000 km, VW 504 00 / 502 00 specification. Twelve cylinders and two turbos need clean oil more than most engines.
- Coolant pipes and hoses preventively at 80,000–100,000 km on the W12, with thermostat and expansion tank. This is the repair that decides whether the engine reaches 200,000 km.
- Coils and plugs as a set every 60,000 km. Replacing one coil at a time means twelve visits.
- Air suspension check at every service — struts for cracks, compressor run time — before the compressor fails.

Which Bentley models have the most problems?
In our workshop: Continental GT and Flying Spur of 2004–2011 with the 6.0 W12 (coolant pipes, coils, air struts, throttle bodies), the 2012–2018 generation (coolant leaks, battery drain, turbo heat shields), Bentayga W12 and V8 (air suspension and 48V anti-roll faults, coolant leaks) and Mulsanne (air suspension, coolant hoses, brakes). The V8 Continental GT of 2012+ is generally the least troublesome.
Why does my Bentley have two flat batteries?
Bentleys use a main battery and an auxiliary battery, both under heavy load from comfort systems that do not fully sleep. Parked for three weeks in Dubai heat, both discharge; the resulting low voltage triggers dozens of fault codes. We replace both with the correct AGM units, code them and check for parasitic drain; electrical diagnostics is from 100 AED.
Is Bentley maintenance much more expensive than Mercedes or BMW?
